ROBIN EVANS, MD

Dr. Evans attended medical school and completed her Dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She received her M.D. degree with honors after being elected to the AOA national Medical Honor Society. Dr. Evans was appointed Chief Resident of her Dermatology training program.

Dr. Evans continues her affiliation with Albert Einstein serving as Clinical Instructor for both medical students and residents in training. In addition, she is a member of the medical staff of Stamford Hospital.

Dr. Evans is Board Certified in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has a particular interest in cosmetic, laser, and surgical dermatology and has received extensive training in these specialty areas. Dr. Evans is also a fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery and of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

In addition to having expertise in cosmetic and laser dermatology, Dr. Evans has a particular interest in and knowledge of holistic and complementary medicine. Based on the interests of her patients, she incorporates the holistic approach into her practice of dermatology. Dr. Evans offers skin care and supplement recommendations to help in the treatment of and prevention of skin disease.

 

ABBY S. MCCARTHY, PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant

Abby S. McCarthy, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant and has been practicing with Southern CT Dermatology since 2004. Abby holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology/Neurobiology from the University of CT and was board-certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants after earning her Masters of Health Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Quinnipiac University.

Abby is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (PAs), Society of Dermatology PAs, Connecticut Academy of PAs, Veterans Caucus of PAs, and is a member of the American Contact Dermatitis Society.

Throughout her career, Abby and Dr. Evans have remained committed to the advancement of her education and training in both general and cosmetic dermatology. She continuously attends local and national seminars to learn the latest cutting edge dermatological technologies and treatments, which helps to keep her at the forefront of the rapidly expanding cosmetic arena.

Abby’s practice incorporates both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She has extensive experience in Botox treatments for Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Abby routinely performs Allerderm Patch Testing to help identify the cause of contact allergic dermatoses and manages the Genova Lab food/environment allergy testing program to determine food allergies and sensitivities responsible for conditions like eczema, psoriasis and acne.

Abby has expertise in laser surgery, including VBeam, IPL, Gentlelase/GentleYag,
Cynosure Affirm and Blu-Light-Photodynamic Therapy(PDT). She enjoys working with
Botox, and the wide array of fillers available today.

 

EMILY DOWE, PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant

Emily Dowe is a licensed and board certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).  She attended the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education/Harlem Hospital Emily - Southern CT DermatologyPhysician Assistant program.  She maintains Connecticut and New York State licensure and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Before attending PA school Emily served active duty in the United States Navy and was a Hospital Corpsman in the Naval Reserve.
